ROCK!

ROCK DIARY by Hedi Slimane.
A new photography concept book created by fashion designer for Dior and many others, Hedi Slimane. Its really incredible. I haven't picked it up yet but I have been reading up on this book. Its got everything, including former drug addict and fashion icon, Pete Doherty. The book is split up into three sections. The first includes photography from Lollapalooza in Spain (which we all know is an extremely fashionable place). The second section is made up of british and american rock scenes, and the third is essays written by Vince Aletti on Slimane's photography work. It wo
uld definitely be a great addition to my ever growing fashion/art book collection and I will surely be picking it up very soon. These photos shown are parts of this amazing book!!!

FREE BIRD! So, free bird boots are amazing. They are deconstructed hand made military boots. Every pair is different and unique. Created by New York based designer Stacey Howard, these boots are made with everything from vintage patterned fabrics to Indian printed blankets. Right now, they are sold in Steve Madden store on Ludlow and Bleeker in NYC. HORRAY!!!!!

I will be doing this to a sweatshirt. Its amazing and its every band that I love.

The Big Jewels

On the runway this fall, I have noticed that dramatic accessories is what is making these outfits so special. Without them, I don't think these outfits would be as noticeable.

She is still amazing

Check this out. A lot of my issues stem from America and its lack of open mindedness. This is beautiful. To me, this is what Vogue is missing. Culture and exploration and appreciation for the female figure. These shots of Agyness Deyn are beautiful. Although they were not for French Vogue, they might as well have been. French Vogue is full of this kind of thing, and I don't think its disgusting. I think its incredible. Its amazing that there are women out there who appreciate their bodies and who look at their bodies in a fashionable way instead of hiding it.

Chloe mode.

Still in Chloe mode.
I want her hair color.

CHLOE CRAZY

My photos from my trip came out le terrible. SO, I won't be posting any. But, here is my latest iconic CRAZE!!

Real Mother Fucking Deal

A Nice Surprise

So, this sweater above is for the new H&M Fall 09 line. Aparently, what the H&M designers are doing is sort of copying off of the big designers and leaders of Fall 08. This sweater is a great example of whats going on in the world of H&M. Look at the sweater compared to this Rodarte dress from Fall 08.

Chloe Fall 09

I loooooove Chloe. I always have, but ever since they appointed Hannah MacGibbon as new creative director and KEY to the design team, its been even more magical. The feel for Fall 09 is a bit spanish. The neutral colors are incredible. The ruffled necklines, sweet boleros, and satin pants are a perfect touch to the hardened styles that we have been seeing on the runways in the past year.

The Art To The Harem

I have figured out the art to the harem...or at least I think I have. Its the sizing that truly matters. If your harem pants are not o
verly baggy, like the Balmain Fall 09 shown above, they can totally work. As most trend forecasting is showing right now, the harem style is here to stay at least until next spring. We might as well learn to get along then right? Its been a bumpy ride so far though since I have not found a single pair that look great on me. It might be because I am short, but I feel like if they are worn in the absolute correct way, it can look amazing! I really feel that its the amount of fabric used. Overly baggy between the legs can look AWFUL! But, evenly distrubted baggy-ness can look smashing. So, the above photos are my idea of perfect harem pants. The below...not so much ;)

Way To Go Lagerfeld

Here is an editorial I found by Lagerfeld. The contrast in the garments with the boots is totally amazing. I also love the hairstyle. Sorry if the photos are a little hard to see, it looked the exact same way in the magazine. I still find it extremely inspiring. Soft and Hard. Dark and Light. Perfect opposites.

Alice Dellal

There she goes.
A recent photo shoot for Oyster Mag. Alice Dellal is such an incredible model. The amazing hairstyle, which I would have HAD to copy off of if I still had long hair, the dress, the jacket, and the tights. It really doesn't get much better than this chick. Yes, I love runway, but this is more my style. A little punk rock, a little rock and roll, and a whole lotta fashionista. I can see myself pulling off this outfit for sure.

First I should explain the name "Dent Et Griffe." It means "Tooth and Claw" in french. I am not french, but the language is amazing. So, tooth and claw comes from a recent inspiration and newest obsession...Miss Pamela Love and her deadly jewelry collection. Decomposing teeth, rotting bones, animal skulls, and raven claws are the make of this inspiring collection. Each piece is hand crafted and extremely well thought out. Now a days, its hard to find that special jewelry collection amongest the gaudy, oversized pieces that have been filling up the runways. These pieces are modest and dainty with a sickening twist.
